They said… they said…

One thing I find truly amazing in this day and age is things like this.  This is an article about a stray mortar hitting a school in Gaza.  First thing I should say is I am completely appalled at the actions of Israel.  Second thing I should say is I will be the first to admit I don’t know, or understand, all of the history associated with Israel, the Gaza strip, and the Palestinians.  Lastly, before I get back to my original point, I will just add that violence begets violence.  Nothing will be solved by killing more people… NOTHING.

All that being said, back to my original point.  I find it absolutely amazing that in this day and age, with spy satellites, video/laser guided munitions, etc… that people/countries can get away with saying someone fired a rocket from a school/hospital/<fill in your protected civilian structure here>.  It would seem that this sort of information could be easily confirmed.  Surely the US put a spy satellite over the field of action as soon as it started.  Knowing the relationship between Israel and the US, they probably already had a satellite looking down on the site.  Surely it could be easy to determine if the rocket was indeed fired from this protected structure as Israel claimed.

What do you think?
